Nagorno-Karabakh says Armenian authorities cannot decide its fate

16.07.2023, Nagorno-Karabakh.

Any statements of the Armenian authorities about concessions made on behalf of the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) are worthless, Artsakh Republic State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan said at a rally in the center of Stepanakert on July 15.

Nersisyan explained that Armenian authorities at various negotiating platforms make various statements and comments that lead to the belittling of Artsakh’s status. “And now we, dear compatriots, together with you, want to declare that the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination is not a subject of negotiations, that the people of Artsakh have earned the right to self-determination and have realized it,” he stressed.

The people of Artsakh are the masters of the fate of the people of Artsakh, and any statement on concessions made on behalf of the people of Artsakh, any decision on concessions is worthless,” the head of the government said.

As it has been reported, on July 15, a regular trilateral meeting between the Armenian Prime Minister and the President of Azerbaijan was held in Brussels through the mediation of the President of the European Council.

It should be noted that after a series of trilateral meetings in Brussels in April, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared full recognition of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity within the borders of the Azerbaijani SSR, including Nagorno-Karabakh. After that, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh should accept Azerbaijani citizenship or leave the region.
