The settlement of Ocheretino in the Donetsk People’s Republic has come under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, the Russian Defense Ministry said on May 5.
According to the ministry, the settlement is now under the full control of the Russian army.
“The units of the Center group of troops have completely liberated the settlement of Ocheretino as a result of active actions,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
It is also reported that units of the Russian army in the DPR repelled eight counterattacks of the AFU over the day, including in the area of Ocheretino.
Ocheretino is a strategically important spot – it is a dominant height, the capture of which opens up the possibility for the Russian Armed Forces to attack in two directions.
