40 channels for smuggling weapons and explosives from the territory of Ukraine were blocked in Belarus during 2023-2024, said Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergey Aleynik, RIA Novosti informed on May 6.

The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said that “only this and last year 40 channels of smuggling weapons and explosives” to the republic’s territory from Ukraine were stopped. He emphasized that such a situation “cannot but cause concern.” He noted that “we realize that today the sphere of [criminal — Rossa Primavera News Agency] aspirations is largely aimed” not only at Belarus but also at Russia.

Aleynik informed about “quite frequent provocations from the Ukrainian side using drones, attempts to transport weapons, explosives to our [Belarusian — Rossa Primavera News Agency] territory with the subsequent, of course, use of this military equipment to commit terrorist acts.”

Recently, the KGB of Belarus discovered and neutralized “the Ukrainian agents of 20 people and about 30 people detained from among saboteurs, people who were preparing and planning, including a terrorist act.”

In February 2024, a group of saboteurs was detained on the western border of Belarus. During the detention of the group, explosives were found. The group, in addition to Ukrainians, included citizens of Belarus. During the period of search and detention of the group, a counter-terrorist operation regime was in effect in Lelchitsy district of Gomel region.
