04.05.2024, Yerevan.

The Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Srbazan, together with members of the Tavush – in the Name of Motherland movement, began a protest march against the transfer of several villages of Armenia’s Tavush region to Azerbaijan, Armenian internet portal Alpha News informed on May 4.

“We are in the process of bloodletting, this process must be stopped once and for all, this is our demand,” the archbishop told reporters.

Bagrat Srbasan emphasized that Armenians are indebted to the Motherland and the dreams of the guys who died in the Karabakh war. “Our dreams mean more than our lives,” he added.

It is planned that the procession will reach Yerevan in the afternoon of May 9. “We will go on foot, maybe we will take a shuttle bus, there will be a bus – we will take it. And if the subway starts working, we will take the subway. We’ll be tired, we’ll sit and rest. We will do as we want,” said Srbazan.

During several hours of the march, the number of participants increased several times and, according to eyewitnesses, is about a thousand people.
