Employees of Greek railway company refuse to transport NATO tanks

02.04.2022, Thessaloniki.

Employees of the Greek transport company TrainOSE refuse to assist in transporting NATO military equipment on Greek railroads, RIA Novosti reported on April 2, citing the information portal of the Communist Party of Greece (CPG).

The locomotive driver, who was ordered to carry NATO tanks to the port of Alexandroupoli in northern Greece, made it clear to his chief that he would not set off, stressing that the law prohibits transporting NATO troops, thus making the railroad an accomplice to the events in Ukraine.

According to the article, the chief replied that it was none of the employees’ business, only to do their jobs properly.

In response to this turn of events, labor unions intervened and demanded that the Greek railroad not be used to transport foreign military equipment, and that threats to employees who refuse to participate in the movement of NATO forces were stopped.
