Members of the Essence of Time movement held a mourning rally dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the tragedy in the Odessa Trade Union House held in Rostov-on-Don, Rossa Primavera News Agency‘s correspondent informed on May 2.
The Essence of Time‘s members reminded the residents of Rostov-on-Don of the tragic events of May 2, 2014, which pushed Donbass to secede from Ukraine.

Rostov citizens walking along Pushkinskaya Street could look at the faces of the victims of the “Odessa Khatyn”, read about them and light a candle of remembrance.
Many passers-by supported the remembrance of the Odessa events of 2014.
“Ten years have passed, and meanwhile, young people have grown up who need to be explained why Donbass started to defend itself,” said one passerby.

“Thank you for reminding us, telling us! I was 10 years old at the time, of course I knew nothing,” confirmed another citizen, a very young man.
“I hope that soon there will be an opportunity to really investigate this crime in Odessa,” said another passerby.

On May 2, 2014, after a clash between “anti-Maidan” activists and nationalists, the “anti-Maidan” supporters were forced into the House of Trade Unions, where they were blocked. Molotov cocktails were thrown into the building. The nationalists killed those who tried to escape, including with firearms. As a result, at least 48 people were killed, and more than two hundred were injured.
After the start of the special military operation on demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, some participants in the crime of May 2, 2014 were identified, who later joined the nationalist military units.
