Kiev passes off long-range missiles transferred by the West as its own. Opinion

13.03.2024, Moscow.

Kiev is covering up the transfer of Western long-range weapons to the Ukrainian armed units by statements about its own long-range missile, according to the report from the theater of war, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 576.

Recently, the West has been intensively discussing the possibility of transferring long-range missiles to Ukraine. France and the United Kingdom have already provided Kiev with SCALP and Storm Shadow cruise missiles with a range of about 250-300 kilometers.

Now, sending German Taurus long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine is under discussion. Taurus can hit targets at a distance of over 500 kilometers. But Germany has not yet agreed to supply such weapons.

In late February, Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries Aleksandr Kamyshyn said at the conference “Ukraine. Year 2024” that Ukraine already has missiles of its own production with a range of 700 kilometers. Earlier, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Aleksey Danilov said that Kiev had been developing a long-range missile since winter 2020.

“This is how Kiev is covering up the transfer of Western long-range weapons to the Ukrainian armed units,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
