The Western elite planned to throw Iran into new Middle Ages making its stake on Khamenei, but it made a mistake, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on April 19 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

According to the political scientist, at first the Khomeini regime justified the hopes of the West, but not for long. Very soon the mullahs, who were expected to keep the country in a semi-primitive condition, began to develop not only the nuclear sector, but the entire Iran on the whole.

Unexpectedly for the West, Persian will to development combined with the radical Shia ideology. Suddenly it turned out that these components did not contradict each other; in contrast, in Iran they could complement each other. And an industrial development of Iran began. The most threatening was the nuclear energy sector, and everything else as well,” Kurginyan said.

According to the philosopher, Iran faced hatred exactly because it maintained as a state developing in a modernizing manner and a religious fundamentalist state at the same time, because any religious fundamentalist state was supposed to do only one thing – stop its development and establish a West-controlled obscurantism.

The world of Modernity was leaving, giving way to post-Modernity in the West and pre-Modernity, anti-Modernity in the Islamic radical world,” Kurginyan said.
