The Islamic Revolution in Iran found support from the West, for which it became a way to destroy the Shah’s regime, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on April 19 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

The political scientist noted that the support for the Islamic Revolution in Iran “is a very dark page that the Western political science and the Western elites do not like to remember.” However, Kurginyan stressed, it is the West that helped to destroy the Shah’s regime, which was quite secular and friendly towards the West.

Khomeini and all this Islamic Revolution was a tool to destroy the Shah’s regime in Iran. The Shah of Iran and his family, who are now crying ‘how terrible the Islamic fundamentalism in Iran is,’ know this very well. They know this better than anybody else,” he added.

Sergey Kurginyan told about an acquaintance of his, a general of airborne troops, who was sent to Iran to ensure that the military raise a revolt to stop “the growing activity of this pseudo-Islamic revolution fronted by Khomeini, which was apparently inspired from the Western world, first of all from Paris.” The general arrived in Iran where the Iranian military were ready for this because they hated radical Islamization, and they only waited for a signal to start the revolt.

However, the political scientist noted, US officials informed them that they would give no support for a military coup; instead, they would counter any attempt of that kind.

These military officials, they took their belongings, the ones who could do so, they took their families in their cars, and they just left. They fled from Iran, and this general whom I know… he fled for dear life because he understood that his diplomatic status would offer him no protection,” the leader of Essence of Time said.

Kurginyan reminded how Khomeini spoke from France and how the Western European elites supported him. He indicated the structures that controlled the process, and in particular the Safari Club.

Everyone involved in analytics knew what the Safari Club was. This was a real club of security services directors of the Western countries who pursued certain strategy in the Islamic world. This was a consolidated and very influential community,” the political scientist explained.

Therefore, he pointed out, although there was certain discontent among the population and certain religious sentiments in Iran at that moment, “as for who controlled all that, of course it was the Safari Club.”
