German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius urges to prepare for a possible war in Europe in an interview with ZDF published on October 30.
“We have to get used to the idea that there could be a threat of war in Europe again,” the minister said.
He noted that this would require Germans to change their mentality towards a more defensive stance. Pistorius said Germans must be prepared for war and must be resilient.
Pistoruis stated that Germany will not force Ukraine to negotiate with Russia. He noted that Berlin predicts that the conflict in Ukraine will last for a long time.
The minister said that the West would continue to support Kiev even if Washington changes its president after the election in 2024.
