On June 22, RIA Novosti published a video showing the fragments of Storm Shadow missiles with markings found at the site of the strike on the bridge in Chongar by the Ukrainian armed units.
The bridge on the administrative border between Kherson region and Crimea was damaged as a result of a missile strike by the Ukrainian armed units. The agency’s correspondent said that a fragment found at the site bears markings indicating that the strike was carried out by Storm Shadow missiles.
It is noted that the markings of the manufacturer MBDA France were found on the fragments of missile parts. This company has been producing long-range SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles since 2003.
Earlier, the acting governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, said on his Telegram channel that, according to preliminary information, long-range British Storm Shadow missiles were used to strike bridges on the border between the Kherson region and Crimea. There were no human casualties. The bridge was damaged.
Saldo noted that traffic flows between Crimea and Kherson region are directed by other routes. He assured that traffic on the destroyed bridges will be restored in the near future.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Crimea, traffic flows are temporarily directed to checkpoints Armyansk and Perekop. Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov said that a commission and military engineers are working on the site. According to Konstantinov, the option of building pontoon bridges is not considered, because there is an alternative way to bypass the damaged bridge.
