Russian representative at the UN: The West uses Ukraine as a tool for cyber robbery

07.03.2023, New York

The USA and Western countries are using Ukraine as a springboard for cyber attacks aimed at Russia and countries of the so-called civilized world, Russia’s representative to the UN Irina Tyazhlova said on March 7 at a meeting of the world organization’s open working group on security in the use of information and communication technologies.

“Kiev was involved in the activities of the Tallinn center of the alliance for cybersecurity. In other words – included in the cyber NATO,” Tyazhlova said.

The diplomat pointed out that the Ukrainian cyber army created with the assistance of the United States and other Western countries is, in fact, a criminal community that has started to rob citizens of both Russia and other states.

“The West is pumping in substantial funds, training personnel, and providing technical assistance to build up the offensive information and communication capabilities of the Kiev regime,” she stressed.

She explained that since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation, NATO member-states have been actively recruiting hackers and involving ordinary users worldwide in this criminal activity.
