Tactical successes of the Russian army in some directions against the background of the aggravated situation on the front were recognized by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky in his Telegram account on April 28.

The situation on the front has escalated. <…> [Russian forces] are actively attacking along the entire front line, in some directions they have tactical successes,” Syrsky said. He noted that the situation is constantly changing.

The commander-in-chief called the situation in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhovsky directions (DPR) the most difficult for the AFU. The Ukrainian troops retreated westward from Berdychi, Semenovka and Novomikhailovka and took new lines.

In the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the situation for the AFU is also tense. In the Kharkov direction Ukrainian troops have been reinforced with artillery and tanks.

Earlier, the Russian armed forces liberated Novobakhmutovka (DPR).
