Former CIA director David Petraeus’s statement about preparing a coup in Russia makes it clear in what direction the US political elite is thinking, according to the Essence of Time newspaper’s reports from the war theater.
The newspaper quotes Petraeus as saying that the CIA is actively preparing a coup in Russia.
He notes that President Vladimir Putin “has such a grip on power,” but history had known examples when the situation changed drastically in a short time. The CIA is looking very hard for “indicators” that such a change in Russia is possible, the former head of the agency shared his opinion.
“Petraeus is simultaneously proficient in military affairs, intelligence affairs, politics, and strategic thinking. Therefore, his statement makes it possible to understand what this stratum of US politicians is thinking,” reads the editorial comment of the Essence of Time newspaper.
