Russian air defense systems shoot down two drones over Sevastopol

Air defense systems downed two drones over the sea near Sevastopol in the morning, the city’s governor Mikhail Razvozzhayev wrote on his Telegram channel on February 16.

“Again the attack of Ukrainian drones. The situation right now: two UAVs were shot down over the sea. Our air defense systems and assets continue to repel the attack,” Razvozzhayev wrote.

Since the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian armed units has attacked Crimea several times with drones. The most powerful attack was a month ago on January 16. At that time, air defense forces shot down at least ten UAVs over Sevastopol, with no casualties.

The city is currently is in a yellow terrorist alert level zone. The work of military agencies and police have been strengthened, railway stations and other public places are inspected, medical organizations have been placed on high alert. In addition, places for temporary accommodation of people have been arranged, and the security of strategic facilities, including energy facilities, has been increased.
