The Russian military is attempting to dislodge Ukrainian forces from the suburbs of Balakleya in the Kharkov region, the head of the region’s administration Vitaly Ganchev said on September 9.
“Balakleya is essentially not under our control. Attempts are being made to dislodge Ukrainian forces there, but fierce combats are underway there and our troops are being held back on the approaches,” Ganchev explained.
Earlier it was reported that the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkov region is safe enough, despite the difficult situation in the area.
