Kurginyan: EU cannot reject Russian gas sooner than in five years

04.04.2022, Moscow.

The European Union is unlikely to stop using gas supplies from Russia sooner than in five years, said political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on April 1 on The Great Game program on Channel One.

“Historically, they will not resolve the gas issue sooner than in five years. Unless they welcome the total impoverishment of their population,” Kurginyan said.

The political scientist noted that the EU will not be able to increase supplies of LNG, which is much more expensive than pipeline gas, in a shorter period in the required volume. Another alternative is to use firewood as fuel, which is also difficult.

“This affects not only gas, and not only heating, this affects a great number of industrial sectors,” Kurginyan noted.

According to the leader of Essence of Time, it is time for Europe to understand that it is it, due to its economic potential and the United States’ “organic antipathy”, will become the USA’s primary victim in the conditions of a new global crisis.
