Kurginyan explains why authorities should remember the late Stalin era

Political apathy, which can come if the authorities lose trust because of vaccination, can result in their defeat the same way as it happened in the late Stalin period, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on August 31 in a new issue of “The Meaning of the Game” broadcast.

“Suddenly you need social support, but instead you get not even a revolt, but a sort of political apathy based on total lack of trust. And if there is no trust, then it is what it is,” he explained.

The political scientist reminded that Stalin in his late period needed a successful resolution of the “Doctors’ plot case.”

“And you know what he encountered? An indolent, subversive processes, full of subservience and lick-spittling, against the ‘Doctors’ plot case.’ The security services did not want to suffer another series of Ezhov-style repressions, and they strongly questioned how powerful and determined the elderly dictator was,” Kurginyan said.

As a result, Stalin failed to overcome this sabotage. The political scientist stressed that there are no direct parallels between Putin and Stalin in this issue.

“However, there is something else, and it is quite obvious. Electoral discontent over vaccination can appear vague in form, but this does not mean it is nonexistent,” the leader of Essence of Time concluded.
