Kurginyan explains why vaccination opponents are losing in Russia

05.09.2021, Moscow.

Opponents of vaccination in Russia are afraid that excessively forceful protests will hurt the State, philosopher, political scientist, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said in a new installment of the program The Meaning of the Game on August 31.

“…What, in essence, is the reason for the relative success of the authorities? […] It lies in the fact that anti-vaccinationists or people who protest against or organize protests against the pension reform are patriots, favoring a strong state. And they are always afraid that if they push too hard, the state will falter, God forbid,” he explained.

Kurginyan reminded that the patriots witnessed the collapse of the USSR.

And the Westernists, who couldn’t care less whether this State falters or not, being foreign agents, they can’t take the reigns of any anti-vaccination or anti-pension process, because they want everyone to be vaccinated the way they are in their western promised land. […] They can’t take the lead on the social agenda, and those who can and do take the lead are patriots who worry too much about the State,” the expert added.

According to the leader of Essence of Time, the confrontation between the authorities and the anti-vaccination movement, which is not controlled by any of the forces, threatens to be disastrous. According to the political scientist, if the anti-vaccination movement were under the control of patriotic forces, the authorities would be able to build a dialogue with them about the country’s future. Kurginyan noted that the lack of a central actor in the anti-vaccination movement should not make the authorities any happier.
