Vaccination had no time to play a significant role in suppressing the outbreak in Taiwan, philosopher, political scientist, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said in his program The Meaning of the Game on November 14.
The main number of deaths from the coronavirus in Taiwan was recorded between May 14 and August 27, 2021. At that time, 821 people died from the coronavirus. A total of 848 coronavirus deaths occurred during the entire pandemic period in Taiwan.
Taiwan launched its SARS-CoV-2 vaccination campaign on March 22. At the time the outbreak of COVID-19 was suppressed on the island, only 4% of the population had been fully vaccinated and 38% had been partially vaccinated. This means that the vaccination campaign did not play a significant role in suppressing the outbreak.
According to Sergey Kurginyan, the main role in suppressing the spread of infection was played by the anti-epidemiological actions of the authorities. Immediately after the outbreak of the world coronavirus, the island authorities imposed a strict quarantine regime for the sick and those who came in contact with them. A strict quarantine regime had also been previously applied to those entering the island.
The sanitary-epidemiological service of the island promptly detected people who had fallen ill, and their contacts, and isolated them completely. For locals, the quarantine regime was quite mild. It was only temporarily strengthened at the time of the outbreak.
As of November 11, Taiwan’s vaccine adverse event reporting system (also called VAERS) recorded 1,066 deaths as possible side effects of the coronavirus vaccine.
