Mobilization and martial law in Ukraine will not be abolished

12.03.2025, Kiev.

Ukraine will not abolish martial law and mobilization in case a 30-day ceasefire is declared, the secretary of the Verkhovnaya Rada committee on national security, defense and intelligence, Roman Kostenko, said, the Ukrainian weekly Zerkalo Nedeli quoted him as saying on March 12.

We are talking about the possibility of a ceasefire for 30 days, so there is no talk about lifting martial law and stopping mobilization,” Kostenko said.

On March 11, Saudi Arabia hosted talks between the delegations of the United States and Ukraine. Following the talks, the parties said in a joint statement that Ukraine is ready to accept the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, and Washington will immediately resume providing intelligence and assistance to Kiev.
