Russian servicemen at a training ground in the SMO zone have tested fragmenting cartridges for Kalashnikov assault rifles developed to combat drones, official representative of the JSC NPP Igor Potapov told TASS on March 12.
“The achieved range and fraction accuracy are acceptable – at a distance of 100 meters we achieved a dispersion cloud of almost 25 cm. This indicator speaks about the effectiveness of the product,” he said about the results of the tests.
The new cartridges will undergo another series of tests to confirm their characteristics. They were made versatile for weapons that every soldier has, unlike analogs designed for specific calibers.
Earlier, the company noted that the new anti-drone cartridge will be suitable for Kalashnikov assault rifles of 5.45 mm caliber.
