The United States no longer considers itself an ally of Ukraine and the European Union, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba stated in an interview with South China Morning Post on March 4.
Commenting on the recent dispute between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, Kuleba stated that “everyone saw that the United States do not consider themselves as an ally of Ukraine and Europe any more.” While this development did not surprise him, Kuleba admitted he was shocked by how quickly it became apparent and was formally acknowledged.
He also suggested that Trump’s foreign policy, including his potential alignment with Russia on the Ukraine issue, will ultimately benefit Beijing.
