The world prepares for an escalation of the conflict with Russia, and it would be a dangerous step to try to “come to an agreement and peace” or to panic, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on August 23 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
Sergey Kurginyan stressed that the attack against Kursk region is “a very painful” precedent, but it is local; “we checked the alarmist statements about how many Ukrainian assault brigades were in the [Russian] territory, but most of these assault brigades are in absolutely different regions [of Ukraine].”
However, it would be very strange to hope that anyone in the West plans to have peace talks with Russia, and especially to call for “immediate peace” with the West, as some Russian oligarchs did, the analyst stressed.
The political scientist reminded about President of Russia Vladimir Putin’s address at an operational conference at Novo-Ogaryovo on August 12, where he rejected any negotiations or agreements with those responsible for the invasion in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
Sergey Kurginyan explained that “no one concedes under pressure, because everyone knows that once you yield to pressure your life is over along with any activities in a country like the one we live in.”
“It is clear that those responsible for that [near Kursk] did it in a way to prevent any peace. Any! Therefore, they are building new facilities at military plants, and they think about mobilization, they increase their military spending and military contingents not to establish any kind of peace afterwards.
They are not so stupid; they do not only talk and indicate the time frame of a major land war against us (it is peculiar that such a war was supposed to immediately become nuclear), but they are getting prepared for that, they invest huge money, they rearrange their economies as well as their population for that. Thus, this is what will happen,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement explained.
On august 12, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held an operational conference in Novo-Ogaryovo on the situation in the near-border regions, i.e. in the Bryansk, Belgorod, and Kursk regions. The leader said that the main task for the Russian army was “to displace, to expel the enemy from our territories and, together with the Border Guard Service, to secure our state border.”
“Apparently, with the help of its Western masters, the enemy fulfills their will, and the West uses the Ukrainians as a proxy to combat us; so, the enemy apparently seeks to improve its bargaining position in the future. But what kind of talks can we have with people who indiscriminately attack civilians and civilian infrastructure or attempt to threaten nuclear facilities? What can we talk to them about?” the Russian president said.
