To wipe out the majority of humanity in a nuclear war, one must first build a “civilization of death” on Earth and diminish the stature of the human being, political scientist, philosopher, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan stated on October 2 during the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio.
Kurginyan noted that the current discussion of the exploration of the Moon, Mars, and outer space raises suspicions that safe havens are being prepared in anticipation of a nuclear conflict. Among the global elites, the question is already being posed, “Why not?”
“The existing billions and billions of people, with their simple desire to live, educate their children, enjoy their vacations, and work is a crucial factor. They constitute a tremendous force which is hated by the elites. While it is technologically very difficult to destroy them, there is a strong desire to do so,” the political scientist said, describing the mindset of a certain groups among the global elites.
Kurginyan framed this as a matter of how the world is structured. “This small group of people will finally be able to create an idyllic existence for themselves, and, as they describe it, face death with equanimity,” the analyst emphasized.
The philosopher recalled the words of Pope John Paul II, who once remarked that “on the ruins of communism, we have built a civilization of death.” “What is a ‘civilization of death’? It is a civilization of Thanatos. Thanatos being the god of death. Freud was right: for Thanatos to prevail, Eros must be reduced to the absolute minimum. And, indeed, today there is less of love!” Kurginyan declared.
Kurginyan noted that humanity is experiencing a decline in testosterone levels and overall “vital energy”, a concept that has already emerged within theoretical biology, alongside an increasing intellectual degradation of the population.
“All this is leading somewhere. The less intelectual humanity becomes, and the more sophisticated are the means of killing, the sooner those means will be used,” Kurginyan emphasized.
“And, in general, why is there this monstrous boom surrounding artificial intelligence? Everyone just takes it for granted. Just as I could never accept COVID as a given, I cannot accept artificial intelligence as such either,” the philosopher remarked.
Kurginyan pointed out that during the Soviet era, he earned a candidate of mathematical sciences degree and completed a doctoral dissertation, making his own modest contributions to Soviet mathematics. “I can state with certainty that, as of today, there is no such thing as artificial intelligence,” the scholar asserted.
Kurginyan explained that the entire breakthrough is driven by a massive increase in machine processing speeds and memory capacity. “These are fantastic changes, but what do they have to do with intelligence? Layered on top of this are standard, age-old decision-making algorithms,” the political analyst stressed.
The philosopher maintained that no artificial intelligence has been created thus far. “Why talk about it, why label it, as Trump does, a ‘super intelligence’? What is the point?” Kurginyan asked.
The purpose, he suggested, is to steer people toward the idea that human beings are not, in fact, the pinnacle of creation.
