The liberation of Avdeevka pushed back the front line and secured Donetsk, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on February 17.
The ministry said that the town had been completely liberated from Ukrainian armed units. It is noted that the advance of the Russian forces was not publicized until the enemy was completely defeated.
“The liberation of Avdeevka made it possible to move the front line away from Donetsk, thereby significantly securing it from terrorist strikes by the criminal Kiev regime,” the ministry said.
The ministry added that the Group of Forces Tsentr continued its offensive against enemy positions in order to liberate the Donetsk People’s Republic from nationalist units.
