In the context of the chaos that the US deliberately fuels in Middle East, Iran has become stronger, not weaker, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on February 9 on the program Conversation with a Sage on channel Zvezda.
Kurginyan reminded that the US has consistently attacked the secular authoritarian regimes in Middle East, i.e. Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, Bashar al-Assad in Syria, Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
“They dismantled Saddam Hussein’s nation state, which was neither caliphatist nor radically Islamist. And what is the result? Iran is sitting there, while they have dismantled this Saddam Hussein’s state,” the analyst noted.
However, no democracy was built after Hussein’s defeat in Iraq – the US brought “a great mess” and actually a civil war on its territory, which was exactly what Saddam Hussein tried to prevent.
“Who won in this chaos? The US was supposed to control this chaos. But there is Iran nearby! Iraq is full of Shias. And these Shias are already looking at Iran.
Their (the US – Rossa Primavera News Agency) hair stands on end, and they say, ‘Oh my God, we initiated chaos there expecting it would be widespread, but al-Assad has withstood it, Iran has withstood it, so they will deal with Iraq without us. And we will face a strengthened Iran instead,’” the leader of Essence of Time described the situation.
