Cargo with explosive devices traveling from Ukraine to Voronezh detained in Georgia

A cargo with explosive devices, transported from Odessa to Voronezh through the territories of Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey, was detained in Georgia, the press service of the State Security Service of Georgia reported on February 5.

It is specified that according to the preliminary version, the cargo was transported to Russia for the subsequent committing of terrorist acts. It was planned to take the cargo through the checkpoint Daryali.

“It is found that the explosive devices and substances were brought to Georgia from the Ukrainian city of Odessa on January 19, passing through Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, through the checkpoint Sarpi on a minivan-type car owned by a citizen of Ukraine,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the delivery was organized from the territory of Ukraine. Citizens of Georgia, Ukraine and Armenia were involved in the act.

It is reported that the explosives contained one detonator and six special keys. Its weight amounted to about 14 kg.
