Ten large Russian companies left Cyprus

17.01.2024, Nicosia.

Ten large Russian companies have left the island of Cyprus, BFM ru reported on January 16.

According to the report, Cyprus is subject to European legislation, so Russian companies in Cyprus are subjected to the same sanctions as in Europe. This caused an outflow of Russian business from the island.

It is noted that the Cypriot authorities cannot influence this process in any way, as they are forced to comply with EU laws.

Earlier, the head office of Tinkoff Bank TCS Group approved the transfer of its jurisdiction from Cyprus to Russia.
