Germany allocates another €7 billion to Kiev after Scholz’s conversation with Biden

The German government will provide military aid worth more than €7 billion to Ukraine in 2024, the press service of the German government said on January 16.

The statement reads that Berlin will not give up its support for Kiev. It is planned to allocate more than €7 billion for military aid.

It will be provided to Ukraine through bilateral support and by contributing to measures financed by the EU’s European Peace Facility.

Berlin will also allocate €520 million to replenish the Bundeswehr weapons transferred to Ukraine earlier.

Germany ranks second after the USA in terms of aid to Ukraine.

The decision to allocate aid to Ukraine was made by the head of the republic, Olaf Scholz, after a conversation with US President Joe Biden.
