Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the collective West an empire of lies in his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 23.
Lavrov explained this statement by the fact that countries and associations “make promises, commitments, including written and legally binding ones” and do not fulfill them.
Lavrov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin shares this view of Western countries and recently stated it publicly, saying that “the West is a real ’empire of lies’.”
