Kurginyan: The West destroyed the USSR not to preserve Russia

The West did not destroy the Soviet Union so as to allow Russia to survive, said philosopher, analyst, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on the air of the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda, broadcasted on the YouTube channel on February 24.

The political scientist drew attention to the way in which Russia was evading the realization that the events in the Balkans, Libya and Syria were the “bells that were tolling” for Russia.

The Essence of Time leader described how he had encountered specific attitude towards Russia in the West. For example, when attempting to discuss further strategy, Western experts responded by saying no.

How can we discuss strategy with the Russians? Strategy is about 30 years from now, and in 30 years there will be no Russia,” the expert reported the response of his Western “colleagues“.

Kurginyan described the attitude in the West towards Russia as “a mixture of contempt, hatred and greed“. At high-level meetings, representatives of the Western elite spoke to Russian oligarchs “as servants, lackeys, people condemned to death“.

At the same time, Russia was under the illusion of being loved by the West. The political scientist reminded us of the horse in Leo Tolstoy’s story Kholstomer (Strider), when it was led to the slaughterhouse, it said: “They must be taking me for a cure“.

This endless hope that they will be cured, that all is actually good, and that we have finally somehow reached an agreement with them, and we have been welcomed, and so on,” the Essence of Time leader characterized the attitude of the Russian elites.
