Russia must regain the place in the world that the country had during the Soviet period in order to win in the confrontation with the West, said philosopher, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on February 10 in the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio.
“Most importantly – we must regain the place we had”, noted Kurginyan. He added that everyone will love Russia if it wins. But it can win only if it changes.
“If in order to achieve this Victory it will be necessary to have 10% allocated to the defense budget, then let it be 10%; if 15% of the budget, then let it be 15%. At times, in the US it was almost 10%, and nothing terrible happened,” noted the political scientist.
It is necessary to act systematically when moving towards changes, emphasized Kurginyan. He urged to be wary of the ideas of direct restorations of the Soviet period. Nonetheless, Russia must rise to the level of influence in the world that the USSR had, stressed the political scientist.
“We must understand that we have to take this place. Only, we must accomplish it with half the population and the situation twice as bad, when the West is united in its policy towards us,” said the expert.
Kurginyan pointed to the fact that currently China and India are beginning to take the leading positions in the world. In his opinion, this has great advantages for Russia today. However, from a strategic perspective, the country must be self-reliant.
“But are we going to think about a strategic tomorrow? And the strategic tomorrow, I repeat, is that – rely on the South, work with it, be friends with it, strengthen relations with it, cherish every bit of relative independence from the West, but don’t make mistakes,” emphasized the political scientist.
