The countries of the Global South have not joined the anti-Russian camp under pressure from the United States, philosopher, political analyst, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan stated on February 10 in the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio.
He reminded that after Stalin’s death, Khrushchev ruined the relations with China over the China’s refusal to criticize the cult of personality. This led to a violent confrontation, including military action on Damansky Island.
Under US President Richard Nixon, Washington succeeded in convincing China to build close relations with the United States, the political scientist recalled. The USA itself made China a superpower, but now that it has become a dangerous competitor to them, the USA has made it an enemy and introduced this in all doctrines.
“China is the enemy [of the United States]. It made a growing mighty superpower out of China with its own hands, and now it is trying to curb this process,” Kurginyan said.
Russia cannot help but be happy that China has not become Chimerica, that it is not a second-rate factory subordinate to the United States, but a strong power that is building complex relations with the United States.
The political scientist also pointed out that India has refused to fully join the anti-China and anti-Russia bloc, even though it has been offered much for doing so. With Iran, Russia has developed a deep partnership, a strategic relationship.
Africa and Latin America refused to yield the USA, Kurginyan noted.
“For a while it seemed that if the USA said ‘you have to do this,’ the Global South would reply ‘we shall do it.’ This is not the case, this is certainly not the case. We have the ability to overcome sanctions, we have the ability to take advantage of the fact that some technology can be imported from somewhere,” the political scientist stressed.
