Turkey expects escalation of conflict in Ukraine in coming months

The Ukrainian crisis can escalate in the coming months, Spokesman of the president of Turkey İbrahim Kalın admitted on January 6 in Twitter.

According to Kalın, the Ukrainian crisis will be long and profound. He also stressed that Ankara will encourage the resumption of the talks for the peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Turkey continues its efforts to ensure dialogue in all areas – from ceasefire to prisoner exchange, from grain transportation to nuclear security, he wrote.

Previously, a phone talk took place between the presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The leaders discussed the situation in Syria and the Ukrainian conflict. Putin confirmed that Moscow remains open to negotiations for peaceful resolution. However, the Russian leader pointed out the destructive actions of the West, which pumps the Kiev regime with weapons.
