Head of LPR: 80% of LPR territory liberated

22.03.2022, Lugansk.

The territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic is almost 80% liberated. Leonid Pasechnik, the head of the LPR, said this on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel on March 22.

Pasechnik noted that about 80% of the territory of the republic is already under the authority of the LPR. The liberation of the territory from the Ukrainian militants continues.

“To date, Popasna, Rubezhnoye, Lisichansk, Severodonetsk and Kremennaya have not been liberated. The rest of the territory of the republic has been liberated,” the head of the republic said.

He noted that the LPR People’s Militia are currently fighting for the towns of Popasnaya and Rubezhnoye. The main problem remains the actions of the Ukrainian military units using civilians in the towns as human shields. The situation, according to Pasechnik, is “stably tense.”

“Petrol stations began to work on almost all the liberated territories, it was a problematic issue – the delivery of fuel to the liberated territories, and they had almost no fuel there anymore. All emergency services have started working, fuel and lubricants for ordinary people have been delivered today, food delivery has been organized, there is light, water, and heat almost everywhere,” Pasechnik said.

On the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed to Russian citizens where he announced the start of a military special operation in Ukraine. The military operation was launched after a request from the heads of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics for help in repelling attacks by the Ukrainian army. The special operation is carried out in order to force the Ukrainian army and the Kiev government to peace, as well as the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.

Putin also appealed to members of the Ukrainian army, offering them to lay down their weapons and not to resist. According to Putin, all servicemen of the Ukrainian army who laid down their weapons would be able to go home to their families in peace. The leader of the Russian state also appealed to foreign forces, demanding not to interfere in Russia’s actions in Ukraine.

“Whoever tries to interfere with us, let alone create threats for our country, for our people, must know that Russia’s response will be immediate and will lead you to consequences that you have never faced before in your history. We are prepared for any development of events. All necessary decisions in this regard have been taken,” Putin said.
