Russian director of intelligence reveals US plans to escalate crisis in Ukraine

03.03.2022, Moscow.

Russia has intelligence information about the plans of Washington and the Kiev regime, which is obedient to it, to prolong the Ukrainian crisis as much as possible and to transform it into a high-intensity trench war, said Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (Russian: SVR) Sergey Naryshkin on March 3, according to the service’s website.

“Today, it has become absolutely clear, including from the intelligence information coming to us, that the US administration and the Ukrainian regime that is obedient to it count on the maximum prolongation of the conflict and its transformation into a high-intensity trench war,” Naryshkin, explained.

The SVR director noted that militants from various countries are going to Ukraine to organize and maintain “the so-called partisan underground.”

“Arms are handed out in large numbers (in Ukraine). Anyone familiar with military science understands that these arms are useless against a regular army, but they are perfect for looters and thugs who rob and intimidate civilians and impede their evacuation to safe areas,” Naryshkin concluded.

In the morning of February 24, President of Russia Vladimir Putin initiated a special military operation for the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine. Putin urged the Ukrainian military servicemen not to obey unlawful orders of their Kiev commanders and to lay down their arms.

The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the Russian army makes no strikes on the residential areas of the Ukrainian cities, targeting only the military infrastructure.
