Over eight years the West ignored Ukraine’s atrocities in Donbass, and it always blamed them on Russia, Moldavian political scientist and historian Boris Shapovalov said on February 26 on the Main Topic with Nina Dimoglo program on the Sputnik Moldavia channel.
“In this situation, the West traditionally adopted a double position, as it has always had a double morale and a blatant Russophobia. They blame everything on Russia, they impose sanctions, and over eight years of the Donbass events they kept silent showing no solidarity and providing no humanitarian aid,” Shapovalov said.
The West ignored 10 thousand victims killed in Donbass, it turned a blind eye to the killing of children, and it does not want to know about the “Alley of Angels” in Donetsk, the political scientist said.
When Western journalists make reports about actual situation in Donbass, major Western outlets refuse to accept or display their material, the political scientist added.
On February 24, Russia began a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, which is aimed at defending the DPR and the LPR and demilitarizing Ukraine.
