The unfolding of pan-Turanism in Turkey will certainly fuel a Turkic-Slavic conflict inside Russia, which is the number one threat to the country, said philosopher, political scientist, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in the Theme program on the Union TV channel on July 15.
“Either Turkey will change and turn back to Kemalism, or this Turkey will begin to unfold into a neo-Ottomanist, pan-Islamist, and worst of all, into a pan-Turanistic source of expansion. And then this is the number one threat to Russia, more important than all other dangers,” warned the political analyst.
By explaining the degree of danger, the Essence of Time leader explained that the Turkic population is the second largest in Russia, so the friendship of the Turkic and Slavic peoples is a decisive factor in domestic stability.
“Whether we talk about the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, or something else, everywhere this Slavic-Turkic alloy guarantees the stability of the state,” Kurginyan noted. He added that “the explosion of this alloy and the activation of sovereignty on the part of the Turkic element in all forms is a mortal danger for the state, the number one danger.“
Kurginyan suggested a method of acting to prevent dangerous tendencies for Russia.
“On the one hand, this means that we must build closer and closer relations between the Turkic and Slavic components of our population. And on the other hand, it means that everyone who wants to activate the Turkish factor against the Slavs must be seen as ‘number one enemies’ and the main support for US imperialism,” the guest of the program outlined.
On June 20, Vladimir Avatkov, associate professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told the Rossa Primavera News Agency that Russia should not only turn from the concept of globalization to national interests (which has already happened overall), but also develop its own field of values and ideology which must be presented to the world.
