For the fifth day in a row the so-called “Svetlodar salient” remains to be one of the hottest parts of the front. Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to provoke battles, as a result of which they themselves suffer large casualties in both killed and injured. Yesterday in the evening Ukrainian artillery hit the residential districts of Debaltsevo, having damaged several houses. During the day the shelling resumed. 82mm and 120mm mortars, as well as 122mm and 152mm artillery guns are being used.
Trench warfare continues on Gorlovka outskirts. Zaytsevo and Shyrokaya Balka village, as well as Mayorsk checkpoint came under Ukrainian artillery fire. The Ukrainian side also fired IFV guns and small arms.
Spartak, Trudovskie, Aleksandrovka and Staromikhailovka villages on Donetsk direction came under fire. Trench warfare continues in the area of Avdeevka industrial zone.
Dokuchaevsk town south of Donetsk got hit by artillery fire. There were no reports of destruction and casualties.
Today Armed Forces of Ukraine made another breakthrough attempt on Mariupol direction. Thanks to coordinated actions of DPR People’s Militia servicemen, the attack was repelled.
DPR recon continues to register the facts of the presence of Ukrainian army’s military hardware and heavy artillery banned by Minsk Agreements in the zone of conflict. A battery of “Akatsiya” self-propelled artillery guns (SPGs) and a battery of “Gvozdika” SPGs were located in Tonenkoye and Pervomayskoye villages. Up to two batteries of “Grad” multiple rocket launchers were discovered in Ivanovka village, 37 km away from the frontline.
According to updated information, on December 21 Ukrainian side violated the ceasefire 968 times.
