Ukrainian army fired over fifty shells at Donetsk and Yasinovataya outskirts

The Ukrainian military fired over 56 82mm and 120mm mortar shells at the outskirts of Donetsk, Gorlovka, and Yasinovataya towns, a source in the Defense Ministry of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) informed Donetsk News Agency yesterday. From 12 in the noon till 5 PM, the Ukrainian army was shelling Gorlovka town, Yakovlevka, Spartak, Zaytsevo villages, and the area near ‘Yasinovatskiy’ checkpoint’.

According to the source, the enemy was shelling from the positions near Avdeevka town, Zhovanka village, and ventilation shaft of ‘Butovskaya’ coal mine near Makeevka town.

Yesterday in the morning, the Ukrainian military fired 70 82mm and 120mm mortar shells at the outskirts of Donetsk and Yasinovataya.

Also yesterday the DPR Operational Command claimed that the Ukrainian army made a breakthrough attempt in the area between occupied Avdeevka town and Yasinovataya town (under DPR control – Editor). A representative of the DPR Operational Command stressed that the combat erupted in the vicinity of the strategically important Donetsk-Gorlovka road. In recent months, this is one of the flashpoints of the contact line in Donbass.
