Ukraine and Turkey will join forces in the defense sector

Ankara hosted a meeting between the Undersecretary of the Undersecretariat for Defense Industry of Turkey Ismail Demir and Alexandr Turchinov − the Head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), the official website of the Council informs.

In the course of the meeting, the Parties agreed to establish a working group to coordinate the work on common projects. Ukraine and Turkey intend to found a scientific research center for the investigation and analysis of the use of advanced military-technical developments as well as initiate several common defense enterprises.

Ismail Demir noted that Turkey appreciates the Ukrainian tank building and aerospace projects, and the consolidation of these technologies with the groundwork of the Turkish defense industry will allow to bring quality to another level.

In turn, Aleksandr Turchinov met with representatives of the Turkish military-industrial complex and visited defense enterprises «Aselsan» and «Roketsan».

Earlier the Head of the Ukrainian NSDC asked Turkey to help with the so-called «de-occupation» of Crimea and called to join efforts to “effectively counter the destruction of the balance of forces in the Black Sea region.”
