Kurginyan: Ukraine can only be mobilized around Banderite ideology

10.07.2026, Moscow.

No matter how substantial the economic and military-technical support from the West might be, Ukraine would not be able to stay in the fight without an ideologically motivated neo-Nazi core which is a driving force behind everything there, philosopher, political scientist, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan stated on June 26 during the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

While acknowledging the significant importance of the support Europe and the United States provide to Ukraine, the political scientist noted that without a powerful internal anti-Russian entity, this support could not have been fully utilized. “All of this is aimed, of course, at the unshakeable desire of modern Western society to finish off – once and for all – what they call the ‘Russian vermin.’ They want to eliminate [Russia] completely,” he added.

“They [the West] have become highly agitated by hatred. It was intense even before the special military operation in Ukraine, and now it is immense. All those disagreements between the right and the left there that is not what matters here. They matter but only as long as the Russian issue is not involved. It is all just ripples, as Solzhenitsyn used to say, – on the surface of a fundamental, metaphysical, and intense Russophobia,” Sergey Kurginyan declared.

However, similar and even greater support from the US failed to secure victory for South Vietnam back in the day, he noted. “Therefore, an internal ideological core is required. Its necessary within this aggressive Russophobic entity,” the analyst explained.

Without an ideological core, all forms of support eventually fail. There must be an ideology in the center of it,” he emphasized.

Kurginyan explained that Ukraine is a much weaker state than Russia and its population is more undisciplined – a condition stemming from historical and geographical factors, where the southern climate fosters a certain languor, where “you can stick anything in this fertile ground and it will grow.

“But when your children will starve to death unless you work hard from dawn till dusk in a zone of precarious agriculture – or hunt where farming is impossible, or navigate flat-bottomed boats for fishing, trade and defense  that forges a different kind of character. That distinct Russian character exists,” the analyst added.

According to him, the concept of work differs between the average person from Central Russia and the average Ukrainian. Ukrainians are characterized by a “softened, slightly capricious, pampered mindset that has absolutely no desire to fight.”

At the same time, the political scientist emphasized that “historically, no Ukrainian state actually existed, regardless of the myths with which the post-Soviet Kiev authorities have been feeding the population. “Everything there is much more uncertain, more speculative,” and it seemed that such a population would be incapable of fighting, he added.

But no one takes into account that 700,000 to 800,000 people [in Ukraine] are bound together by a truly Nazi bond – something far darker than classical German Nazism, with powerful occult roots that have nothing to do with Christianity,” Kurginyan stated.

These 700,000 to 800,000 people exist. They are willing to steal, too, but that is not their priority; their priority is to kill. These are different people; one needs to recognize that,” the analyst added.

He had repeatedly advocated for showing real Ukrainian Nazis on television, rather than the so-called Ukrainian political analyst Kovtun – a man who understood perfectly well that his physical appearance, combined with his personality, triggered a visceral sense of revulsion – a trait he effectively sold to the Russian audience for money, the expert added. It was the case of personal influence peddling, his own self-promotion, the political analyst declared.

What one has to show is the real killers; these cold faces; this unparalleled hatred. People must see it,” Kurginyan emphasized.

According to him, these hundreds of thousands of neo-Nazis could never win an election. “But why would they need elections? They are structured for dictatorship! They are highly consolidated. Power was handed to them. They are the ones who grabbed the Ukrainian people – a people who were undisciplined, somewhat lazy, and had absolutely no desire to fight – by the throat and transformed them into the very thing the Nazis turned the German people into,” the analyst stated.

At the same time, he noted that one cannot draw a direct parallel between Nazi Germany and Ukraine. Germany was always far stronger and more militarized than Ukraine, yet the principle, he argued, remains the same.

In fact, a highly consolidated ideologically and metaphysically united super-gang has come to power [in Kiev]. And it is dealing with the Ukrainian people the way a cook deals with potatoes. It is altering their consciousness. It is orchestrating brainwashing in schools. It is grooming new generations. This group dominates; it is the core of the political power and Ukraine’s capacity to wage war. It is a real force,” Kurginyan emphasized.

Meanwhile, he noted, no group of comparable intensity is visible in Russia. “Everything [in Russia] is far more pragmatic. But over there, it is all deeply fanatical. It is full of intense metaphysical energy, the analyst stated.

“And it breathes an unquenchable inner hatred for Russians – for the moskals. For them, this matters more than money. Killing is more important to them than stealing. They might pilfer a bit here and there – why not? – but stealing is not their fundamental basis,” he added.

At the same time, Kurginyan noted that the head of the Kiev regime Vladimir Zelensky is completely dependent on this neo-Nazi group; he could not fight for a single day, nor hold onto power, without them. Zelensky flatters them and constantly shifts further in their direction. “He is rapidly becoming ‘Banderized,'” the analyst emphasized.

According to him, Zelensky has no other choice. “And he does it with fervor, like a man who understands that if he hesitates for even a day, hes a dead man. This is a unique aspect of Ukrainian society that is often underestimated. It is the decisive factor,” the analyst pointed out.

“So, when he [Zelensky] increases the level of ‘Banderism’ – against all logic – a simple question arises: why would fish need a bicycle, or Ukrainians need Bandera?” Kurginyan noted.

After all, it would have been more convenient for the Ukrainian authorities to have the backing of a “Western society that still prattles on about democracy“; for that, it would have sufficed to simply say they were anti-Russian and pro-democracy. “Why hang portraits of German Nazi collaborator Bandera in government buildings? Why play this card in the first place? Because there is no other!” the political scientist emphasized.

“There is no way to mobilize Ukraine other than through this group – using this specific semantics, ideology, and metaphysics. Otherwise, everything falls apart! Otherwise, you see a sort of peace-loving, lazy citizen – whos unwilling to make any significant sacrifices – whos simply won’t be able to get anything done. But [they] need something else,” Kurginyan stated.

Zelensky is ramping up military mobilization, which is only possible around Banderite ideology,” he added.

The analyst pointed out that power in Ukraine is increasingly shifting toward these neo-Nazi groups, while pragmatists holding different views are being sidelined.

“Because a dark spirit – a truly dark spirit, one breathing the very abyss – is triumphing over everything else [in Ukraine]. And until we counter this with something equally powerful, this whole mess will drag on. The weaker country will keep fighting,” the political scientist declared.

According to Kurginyan, Europe will not provide a single soldier to fight on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. “For Europeans, losing 100 people is a very serious matter. Ukrainian society’s mobilization reserves are nearly exhausted. The only option left is to tighten the screws to drive people – including a younger generation with a completely different mindset – into the war,” he emphasized.

In the meantime, drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be produced by the millions and launched against Russia. “A war with the wide use of drone technology driven by the neo-Nazi group controlling it all – will continue. And that is what Zelensky needs,” the analyst noted.

Furthermore, Zelensky has a strong need to be liked by the global community; he is well aware that doing so requires dismantling neo-Nazi regime, yet he continues to expand it, the political scientist observed.

It implies that there is something more important than the global opinion. I am referring not to the world at large, but to the opinion of its certain specific groups,” Sergey Kurginyan concluded.
