Selling birthright for pottage of lentils is a metaphysical failure leading to catastrophes, because such selling cannot be forgiven by the dead who sacrificed themselves for their mission, and such selling cannot be forgiven by the higher forces, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on May 15 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
According to the leader of the Essence of Time movement, the lesson of the Armenian policy is that the Armenian nation, having rejected its historical mission and forgotten its history, is doomed.
“When everything (historical – Rossa Primavera News Agency) is erased, the yataghan comes, and first it eats dolma and pats you on the back as you bow to it, and then it cuts your throat. And this is what happens to any nation that rejects its national mission,” the political scientist said.
The philosopher indicated that Armenia has always wanted to become associated with its French or US diaspora forgetting about the role of Russia that saved it from death. Russia, being an empire, monitored all the power balances in adjacent regions, and it should continue monitoring them.
“These Armenian diasporas will never make any difference. And the West will never make any difference. The Russians, when they were an empire, more or less successfully managed this. They never went as far as to fully take the side of Christian Armenia because they had Islam inside their empire. And they could not ignore it,” Kurginyan noted.
According to the political scientist, it would be a mistake to think that Pashinyan’s adversaries can be pit against him, because Pashinyan has built an army around himself. No matter how much Yerevan hates Pashinyan, who does not care what people think, who hates the people, and who has a mission to destroy the history of his country and the people, Yerevan has no chance to give way to its hatred to the full extent.
The leader of the Essence of Time movement indicated that everything that is happening in Armenia has several levels: metaphysical, historical, geopolitical (a conflict of all the forces involved around the Zangezur corridor), domestic political (bilateral relations between Russia and Turkey), pragmatical (our need to keep peace everywhere beyond our combat area).
“We must remember what selling one’s birthright for pottage of lentils is. It is a metaphysical failure leading to catastrophes, as it cannot be forgiven by the dead who sacrificed themselves for their mission and it cannot be forgiven by the higher force,” the philosopher said.
Kurginyan also noted that, as we are at the beginning of an era of deadly catastrophic wars, we must understand that we can only withstand it relying on our historical mission, and Russia must acknowledge that Iran has withstood due to its historicity.
“Let all these lessons, along with our vision of it as well as our understanding that we really want to leave Caucasus but we cannot, become supplementary considerations to our current, definitely quite intelligent, diplomatic and other kinds of pragmatics,” the political scientist concluded.
