Kurginyan reveals the consequences of Khamenei’s assassination

The assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would served the interests of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and also galvanized Hezbollah and other organizations, philosopher, political scientist, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on March 6 on the Conversation with the Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

The political scientist emphasized that Ayatollah Khamenei, who was killed along with his family, was “the most accommodating toward the US and Israeli interests.” According to Kurginyan, he was an extremely reasonable, moderate politician, concerned only with the transfer of power; and, he was the only one who could reach any real agreements with the United States.

However, as the leader of the Essence of Time movement noted, “they killed their most reliable man.”

Furthermore, Iran was prepared for such development, the political scientist noted.

“Since Iran has long been preparing for such things, it has a so-called mosaic defense. It has already been tested, and after the previous attack against their nuclear facilities it has been thoroughly refined,” he said.

In the case with Venezuelan, it was still conceivable that the US wanted Delcy Rodriguez instead of Nicolás Maduro, Sergey Kurginyan explained.

“What is wrong with Maduro and what is so special about Rodriguez, given that neither Maduro nor Rodriguez, but the military actually governs Venezuela, as always in such countries, is a separate issue altogether. But it might impress some people, he clarified.

But in the case of Iran, according to the political scientist, Khamenei’s assassination might only impress a less-informed audience, not those who are even minimally aware of the situation.

“They solved the IRGC’s problem. It seems as if they all, including this, so to speak, half-insane and ecstatic President of the United States, are acting in the IRGCs interests – as if the IRGC had paid them money…“, Sergey Kurginyan said.

He explained that Khamenei was the IRGC’s biggest problem because the fatwa he issued was the only document regulating the use of nuclear weapons. According to this fatwa, Iran should not have nuclear weapons, as it contradicts religious canon. But now the author of this fatwa has been killed.

Kurginyan also drew attention to the activation of radical groups caused by this assassination.

And everyone was saying that Khamenei’s assassination could activate Hezbollah, Yemeni groups, and everything else. It was exactly what they did that activated those groups, the political scientist noted.
