Chief of the Russian General Staff: Russian Armed Forces fully liberate Kupyansk

The Russian Armed Forces fully liberated Kupyansk (Kharkov Region), stated Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense, Army General Valery Gerasimov, on November 20 during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to the command post of the Group of Forces Zapad.

“The units of the Group of Forces Zapad liberated the city of Kupyansk and continue destroying the Ukrainian armed units encircled on the left bank of the Oskol River,” Gerasimov said. He also reported on successful advances in the Rubtsovsk and Krasny Liman directions.

In addition, Gerasimov described the situation in other operational directions. The Group of Forces Yug is advancing with fighting in the towns of Seversk and Konstantinovka in Donetsk Region.

The Group of Forces Tsentr is successfully advancing in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. Over the past week, Gnatovka, Sukhoy Yar, and Rog were liberated. Krasnoarmeysk itself has been freed by 75% or more.

The Group of Forces Sever continues establishing a security zone in the border regions of Ukraine’s Sumy and Kharkov Region. As of today, more than 80% of Volchansk was liberated.

The Group of Forces Vostok continues actively expanding its zone of control in the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye Regions. Altogether, since November 1 more than 230 square kilometers of territory or 13 towns and villages were liberated in these regions. The Russian army have reached the Gaichur River.

The Group of Forces Dnepr in the Zaporozhye direction has liberated the village of Malaya Tokmachka. Fighting continues for control over Primorskoye and Stepnogorsk.
