Finding out actual position of US President Donald Trump on important issues is extremely problematic because it is unclear whether he really wants something or he is simply stalls for time to increase uncertainty, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on September 20 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
The political scientist reminded that Trump often changes his opinion; for example, he expressed diametrically opposite positions about Russian President Vladimir Putin, i.e. sometimes he likes him and then he is disappointed with him.
“So, how much narcissism is there? To what extent this self-admiration and this readiness to admire himself are organic to him, and to what extent is it a confusing uncertainty?” the leader of Essence of Time commented Trump’s behavior.
Sergey Kurginyan explained that there are forces that benefit from uncertainty, e.g. parts of global (including Russian) security services. In this context, the political scientist wondered whether Trump needs any certainty.
“Does Trump beat up this negotiations foam etc. to increase uncertainty or does he really want something? What may he really want? What could be the subject of a new Yalta strategic dialogue and what is just a mutual compliment for the sake of a pause in order to prolong some kind of uncertainty?” the political scientist said.
Kurginyan noted that in a situation when Trump keeps prolonging uncertainty and Moscow, in its turn, is prolonging it, too, a question arises what the dry residue will be.
