To undermine the stability of the Russian government and organize a coup, the CIA and NATO intelligence agencies will now use anti-Soviet ultra-conservatives, since their “colleagues” – anti-Soviet liberals – are already a spent force, philosopher, political scientist, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan warned, discussing the purpose of creating the film The Mummy in his article The Sharp Turn, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 637.
Kurginyan noted that within the anti-Soviet NTS (National Alliance of Russian Solidarists), which consisted of liberal and ultra-conservative wings, there were also representatives of the Soviet intelligence – the KGB and GRU. “But these were largely rare cases and isolated ambiguities. And, of course, the CIA dominated these structures,” the political scientist emphasized.
The philosopher noted that at the time when Russia was integrating into the West, it could be said that Russia would soon become part of a unified West and therefore the CIA’s patronage was nothing to be afraid of.
But now the country has sharply changed its course and is in confrontation with the West. “So, after this sharp turn, do we still assess the CIA in the same way? Or do we perceive it differently?” Kurginyan asked.
“Does anyone believe that the Banderites can fight Russia, while the Vlasovites can do something completely opposite?” the political scientist posed a question.
The philosopher explained that such a scenario is impossible because “both the Banderites and the NTS are equally dominated by the CIA, as well as other NATO intelligence agencies.”
“They cannot truly conflict with each other,” Kurginyan emphasized. He noted that these forces can play a game, primarily to undermine Russia’s stability.
The political scientist emphasized that by starting the special military operation, Russia made a very sharp turn. However, the components of the previous period have not disappeared. In such conditions, a serious contradiction arises, “fraught with everything, up to a coup d’état,” the philosopher noted. Therefore, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia [ROCOR] and NTS, which are backed by Western intelligence agencies, are being used.
However, in the current situation, anti-Soviet liberals cannot carry out such a coup. They have long discredited themselves. Thus, it is now the turn of their ultra-conservative partners in anti-Soviet NTS, Kurginyan emphasized. It is Western intelligence agencies that are interested in arranging a “cold summer” [reference to a Soviet film The Cold Summer of 1953. Here, it hints to possible rebellion or coup of armed insurgent groups unsatisfied with political course of the Russian authorities – translator’s note] for the Kremlin in 2025 or some other year.
“Is anyone ready to be skeptical about this, even after everything that was done first by Mr. Strelkov and then by Mr. Prigozhin?” the political scientist asked.
Despite the fact that “the Russian president and the political system he leads are in no way pro-Soviet,” they will still be attacked by the NTS and the ROCOR, because the sharp turn that Russia made when it launched its special operation in Ukraine cannot but lead to at least a moderate resovietization of society, and this is not in the interests of the West.
However, the ROCOR is doing just that, “accusing the system of becoming too ‘Soviet’ after the sharp turn,” Kurginyan emphasized. This, like the latest discussion of the Mausoleum, is needed by those “who are concerned even about moderate resovietization, which is inevitable in the event of this sharp turn,” the political scientist explained. He emphasized that even such resovietization is unacceptable to certain forces.
In June, the Synod of Bishops of the ROCOR stated that Soviet ideological approaches are returning to Russia and called on Orthodoxy to oppose them.
Translator’s comment
In late June, Spas, a Russian federal TV channel associated with the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), premiered its film The Mummy. This anti-Soviet, anti-Russian, and anti-Orthodox film was used as a pretext to start discussion of removing Lenin’s body from the mausoleum. This film fraud with blatant distortion of facts and fabrication of data provoked a conflict not only with pro-Soviet Russian citizens, but also with a part of the Orthodox.
