Russian FSB prevents terrorist attacks planned by Ukrainian intelligence agents

The Federal Security Service (FSB) thwarted the activities of three individuals assisting Ukrainian intelligence in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), as well as in Yaroslavl and Lipetsk Regions, the FSB Public Relations Center informed on July 22.

According to the agency, the suspects were recruited for involvement in sabotage and terrorist activities through foreign online messaging platforms. The first suspect, a Russian citizen, participated in preparations for an attack on a DPR serviceman, passed on the locations of Russian army units to Kiev, and attempted to incite Russian social media users to commit terrorist attacks. He was detained in Khartsyzk.

The second suspect, a Ukrainian citizen, was caught in Yaroslavl. She was assembling an improvised explosive device under the direction of Ukrainian intelligence services. The device was intended to be used in a bombing at a railway infrastructure facility in the region.

Additionally, the 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced another accomplice of Ukrainian intelligence, who was arrested in 2024 in Lipetsk Region, to 14 years in a high-security prison. The man had participated in the arson of a humanitarian aid collection point designated for Russian military needs.
