The Russian Armed Forces destroyed three Patriot surface-to-air missile system launchers and an AN/MPQ-65 multifunction radar station, the Russian Defense Ministry informed on July 21 via its Telegram channel.
“Three Patriot missile system launchers and an AN/MPQ-65 multifunction radar station were destroyed,” the defense ministry’s statement reads.
The Russian Defense Ministry noted that the destroyed launchers and radar system were manufactured in the United States.
On July 14, US President Donald Trump announced that Washington intends to deliver 17 Patriot systems to Kiev.
It is also worth noting that on July 9, Trump described the Patriot system as very expensive and very rare.
